12th Street Series: Jack Dollhausen: A 30 Year Start
April 20 – June 16, 2002
This retrospective exhibition of Washington artist Jack Dollhausen featured over 30 electronic pieces of sculpture. These interactive works, created from 1970 to the present, combined an intellectual rigor with a wonderful sense of play. Dollhausen, a professor at Washington State University, is a Mr. Wizard-type of sculptor, his studio full of blinking lights, beeping speakers, and buzzing computers. His work has a rich musical and visual complexity but is accessible to all. This exhibition was organized by the Boise Art Museum.
