2009 Neddy Artist Fellowship

For the fifth year, Tacoma Art Museum presents an exhibition of work by nominees for the Neddy Artist Fellowship. The nominees for painting are Timothy Cross, Eric Elliott, Gary Faigin, and Lynda Lowe; the nominees for glass are Joey Kirkpatrick and Flora Mace, Sabrina Knowles and Jenny Pohlman,Benjamin Moore, and April Surgent. Eric Elliott was awarded the Fellowship for painting and April Surgent was awarded the Fellowship for glass. Celebrate all of the artists at the free members’ opening and artist party on Saturday, June 6, from 6:30-9 pm.

The Neddy Artist Fellowship was established in 1996 as a memorial to Robert E. (Ned) Behnke (1948–1989) by the Behnke Family and Behnke Foundation to honor Ned’s contributions to the Northwest artistic community. The Fellowship is awarded to Northwest artists who demonstrate artistic excellence, innovation, unique vision, and a passionate commitment to their art and community.
