Tacoma Art Museum’s collection of over 5,000 artworks has grown over the decades through a number of significant gifts. On the occasion of the opening of the new Rebecca and Jack Benaroya wing, TAM is taking a moment to look back and celebrate other major additions that have shaped and expanded our holdings.
Though the museum has focused its collecting on the art and artists of the Pacific Northwest for over 55 years, it also has acquired other types of work that provide a larger context in which to understand the art of our region. Come see treasured favorites from our legacy collections of European paintings, Japanese woodblock prints, and American modern art as well as more recent arrivals that further expand that story.
