Welcome back to The Current Corner! In this video, Artist Award Manager, Victoria Miles has invited Current committee member, Salena Hill and local artist, Dierdre Patterson to discuss Marion Greenwood’s New Year’s Eve.
“To the point of The Current, there’s an interesting intersection, where you must give artists space to be observers and artists take on different subjects in their work. It gives us an opportunity to have a conversation like this one. You have to have space , you have to have time to create , time to observe and to stretch and this work is a great example of that.” -Salena Hill
Going into its second year, The Current, An Artist Award program is one of a kind in the region, establishing an unrestricted financial award for a Black artist living and working in Tacoma.
